Data we use and why

Enquiries and quotations

When you contact us, we process your name, contact details, organisation, message and any files or product specifications to answer you, prepare a quotation and take steps before entering into a contract. Legal basis: performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps.

Orders and administration

When you become a customer, we process identification, billing, order, design, payment and delivery data to perform the contract and meet accounting, tax and other legal obligations.

Website security

Hosting and network providers may process technical logs such as IP address, browser type, time and requested page for security, diagnostics and reliable website delivery. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure and available.

We do not use automated decision-making and do not send marketing without a valid legal basis, such as your consent.

Who receives data

Data is shared only when necessary with providers of hosting, email, IT, accounting, payments or delivery, professional advisers, or competent authorities where required by law. They receive only the data needed for their task. We do not sell personal data.

If a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, we use a recognised transfer mechanism such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep data

Enquiries that do not lead to further work are generally retained for up to two years after the last contact. Contract, invoice and accounting data is kept for the applicable statutory periods, which can be up to ten years depending on the document. Technical logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operation. Data is then deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

Subject to the GDPR conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or object to processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier processing. Email info@madelab.be; we may request reasonable identification.

You may also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels.

Cookies and local storage

This website currently uses no analytics, advertising or personalisation cookies and does not itself place non-essential cookies. Technical infrastructure may use strictly necessary security or network data to deliver the website; consent is not required for this, but this information must still be provided.

If analytics, marketing tools or other non-essential trackers are added later, this notice will be updated and prior consent will be requested where legally required.
